Forge is where you describe what you want and ask for changes. An App is the tool you use day-to-day (like a list, tracker, or helper).
If you’re using an App and think “I wish it did this differently,” that’s a Forge request.
No. Write what you want in plain language (like you’re texting a friend). The best results come from describing:
- What you’re trying to do (your goal)
- What you want to enter (the information)
- What you want to see (the result)
When you ask Forge to change an App, you’re creating a new version. That new version can change the layout, fields, buttons, or behavior—based on what you asked for.
If the change didn’t work out, you can usually go back to an older version.
Yes—Spanner keeps a version history when you make changes in Forge. You can review earlier versions and restore one if you prefer it.
Usually, restoring an older version changes the App design (what the App looks like and how it works), not your everyday entries.
Sharing lets someone else use an App you share with them. Depending on how the App is set up, sharing may include:
- The App itself (the tool and its layout)
- Shared information (for example, a shared list) when the sharing option includes it
When you share, Spanner will show what the other person will get before you confirm.
They typically need Spanner to open and use a shared App. If they can’t access it, ask them to install Spanner and sign in, then try the share again.
Common reasons:
- You shared a different App than intended (check the App name)
- You edited the App after sharing and they’re viewing an older version
- They don’t have the needed access (for example, they weren’t included in the share)
If it’s urgent, try sharing again and confirm you’re selecting the right App.
Some Apps can use device features to save you time (for example, using your camera to capture information). Spanner asks permission only when a feature needs it.
If you choose “Don’t Allow,” the App can still work, but that feature may be limited or unavailable.
Yes. You can change permissions in your device settings at any time. After turning a permission on, reopen Spanner (and the App) so it can try again.
Usually yes, but anything that relies on that permission may stop working or disappear from the App.
Example: If an App uses the camera and you revoke camera access, the App may hide camera-related actions.
Free is great for trying Spanner and using basic Apps. Pro typically unlocks more capabilities and higher limits.
Canceling usually changes your access to Pro features and limits, but it doesn’t mean your Apps disappear immediately. What you can do next depends on the current plan rules.
Check your plan status in the subscription management page and review what happens after a subscription ends.
Try these quick checks:
- Make sure you’re signed in to the same account you used to purchase
- Close and reopen Spanner
- Wait a few minutes—purchases can take a moment to sync
If it still doesn’t update, see “Billing FAQs” and “Manage Your Subscription.”
