Find and Run Apps (Your App Library)
What you’ll do on this page
- Open your App Library
- Choose the right App (especially when you have several similar ones)
- Use an App day-to-day (open it fast, add/update entries, and get results)
- Fix common “I can’t find my App” situations
Open your App Library
From the main Spanner screen, open App Library (sometimes labeled Apps). This is where all of your Apps live—ones you created and ones you’ve added.
If you see a list or grid of Apps, scroll to browse. If there’s a Search bar at the top, type a few letters from the App’s name to narrow the list.
Pick the right App (when several look similar)
If you have multiple Apps for similar tasks (trackers, lists, routines), use these quick checks before you open one:
- Name: Look for the most specific name (e.g., “Meal prep checklist” vs. “Checklist”).
- Icon (if shown): Some Apps display an icon—use it as a visual shortcut.
- Recent activity: If your Library shows recently used Apps, start there—your daily App is often near the top.
- Preview text: If you see a short description or last-updated info, use it to confirm it’s the right one.
Run an App day-to-day
Most Apps follow the same everyday rhythm: open the App, enter information, and get a result (like a saved item, a summary, a reminder-style output, or an updated list).
In your App Library, tap the App you want to use. This opens the App’s main screen.
Use the on-screen fields and buttons to enter today’s info (for example: add a grocery item, log a habit, record a number, or check off a task). If the App supports it, you can also edit an existing entry.
Look for the App’s output—this might be an updated list, a calculated total, a status, or a formatted view of what you entered. If anything looks off, you can adjust what you entered and try again.
When you’re done, return to the App Library. If your Library shows recent Apps, your App should now be near the top, making it faster next time.
If you can’t find an App you made
If an App seems to be missing, it’s usually one of these situations. Try the steps below in order.
Open the App Library and use Search. Try:
- Part of the App’s name
- The problem it solves (for example, “grocery”, “tracker”, “budget”, “workout”)
- A shorter version of the name (in case you renamed it)
If your App Library supports sorting (like Recently used or A–Z) or filters, switch the view and look again. An App can feel “gone” when the list is just sorted differently.
If you created multiple versions while experimenting, the App might have a similar or generic name (for example, “New App”, “Untitled”, or a version with a slightly different title). Scan the list for anything close.
If you use more than one sign-in method (for example, Apple on one device and Google on another), your Apps may be on a different account. Check that you’re signed into the same account you used when you made the App.
Common “missing App” scenarios
In the App Library search, try the task instead of the name (for example: “mood”, “symptom”, “expenses”, “packing”, “chores”). If your Library shows recent Apps, open the few you used most recently until you spot the right one.
Make sure you’re signed into the same Spanner account on both devices. If you are, give it a moment and then reopen the App Library (sometimes it needs a quick refresh after switching devices).
Search for the keywords you would have used in the new name. If you renamed it to something short (like “Tracker”), try searching for what it tracks (like “water” or “sleep”).
Use search first, then consider organizing your Apps so your daily ones are easy to spot. (See the separate page on organizing Apps for practical cleanup tips.)
