Manage Your Subscription
Before you start: where you subscribed matters
How you upgrade, cancel, or find receipts depends on where you originally started your subscription:
- Apple App Store (iPhone/iPad)
- Google Play (Android)
- Spanner website (if available in your region)
Confirm your billing status
Use these steps when you’re not sure if you’re on Free or Pro, whether your plan is active, or where you’re being billed.
Open Spanner, then go to Settings → Account → Plan & Billing (names may vary slightly by device).
Look for a status like Pro (Active), a renewal date, or a note that your plan is managed by Apple or Google Play.
Make sure you’re signed in with the same Apple ID/Google account you used to purchase, and that you’re using the same Spanner account inside the app (if you have more than one).
Upgrade your plan
Upgrading takes effect right away in most cases (you’ll see Pro features available as soon as the purchase completes).
In Spanner, open Settings → Account → Plan & Billing.
Select the plan you want (for example, Pro or a different billing period if available).
Finish the purchase through Apple, Google Play, or the Spanner website, depending on where checkout opens.
Cancel your subscription
Canceling stops future renewals. You’ll usually keep Pro access until the end of your current paid period.
Go to Settings → tap your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions.
Tap Spanner in the list of subscriptions.
Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial), then confirm.
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Select Spanner → tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.
If your plan is billed through Spanner directly, open Spanner and go to Settings → Account → Plan & Billing, then choose Manage subscription (or similar) to cancel.
What happens when a subscription ends
When your subscription ends (because you canceled and the paid period finished, or a renewal didn’t go through), your account typically moves to the Free plan.
- Pro features turn off at the end of your billing period (or immediately if a trial ends, depending on the store’s rules).
- You can still sign in and access Spanner on supported devices.
- Some Apps or features may become limited until you resubscribe (for example, anything labeled “Pro” in the app).
How to confirm your cancellation went through
After canceling, return to your Apple Subscriptions or Google Play Subscriptions page and confirm Spanner shows Expires or Will not renew.
Open Settings → Account → Plan & Billing. You should see your plan still active until the end date, or a message that it’s scheduled to end.
If billing looks wrong
- Confirm you’re signed into the same Apple ID/Google account that paid for the subscription.
- In Spanner, confirm you’re signed into the same Spanner account you used before (especially if you’ve used multiple emails or sign-in methods).
- Close and reopen Spanner, then check Plan & Billing again.
- Check if you subscribed on a different device (for example, subscribed on iPhone but looking in Google Play).
- Check for a different Apple ID/Google account on the device.
- In Spanner, look in Plan & Billing for a note like “Managed by Apple” or “Managed by Google Play.”
Renewals, refunds, and receipts are handled by the place you subscribed:
- Apple App Store: purchase history and receipts are in your Apple account.
- Google Play: receipts are in Google Play order history.
- Web subscription: receipts are available in your Spanner account billing area (if provided).
